What I've found online 3/13/13

  • I checked in on The Morning News' Tournament of Books and today's head to head competition is between Gone Girl  and Ivyland.  The win and move to the next round goes to Gone Girl.  I just finished reading this Sunday night and all I can say is, this book is a roller coaster ride.
  • It's Day Two of the Battle of The Kids' Books 2013 at the School Library Journal's blog. Today's match up is between Code Name Verity and Titanic: Voices of the Disaster.  I am reading the Titanic book now.  I like it, but feel like it needs the drama button sometimes.  Ms. Hopkinson is really being emotionally manipulative.  The story doesn't need any more dramatization. The photos, the facts, and the personal stories and quotes are plenty harrowing, without the author piling on obvious statements just to up the emotional factor.
  • I also stumbled across this article at Flavorpill on the 10 Greatest Dystopian Love Stories.  I've read six of the titles and I guess this just means that Mount TBR is going to get a little taller.
  • Over at The Guardian, they've got an article on the long list for the 2013 Women's Prize for Fiction.  This is the new name for the Orange Prize.  You can find a slide show of the books here.
